Love Bob's Red Mill Granola? Now you can try all of the flavors! The Perfect Healthy treat for a nutritious and energizing breakfast.
I like granola, and I’ve enjoyed products from Bob’s Red Mill in the past, so I was eager to try this assortment of differently flavored granolas. There are five packs included: peanut butter, cranberry almond, coconut spice, maple sea salt, and lemon blueberry. These all have oats as the first ingredient. The bags vary in how large the clusters are versus how loose the mixture is. I’d say that the peanut butter one has the largest clusters and the maple sea sat may be the loosest mixture. One thing to be aware of is that every one of these flavors has coconut oil, and every flavor except peanut butter has coconut pieces. I do not like coconut, so I was going in expecting to not like the coconut spice flavor but be OK with the others. I didn’t realize they’d all have coconut in them. Fortunately, none of them really have a coconut flavor to them, not even the coconut spice one. The coconut pieces are lost to some degree, though I do find them lingering in my teeth more, which is when they are most noticeable. All in all, while I wish the coconut wasn’t here, especially the pieces, I found them to present only a small issue, one that would not prevent me from eating this granola.Overall, I found the flavors to be somewhat muted. The peanut butter, for example, does have a peanut butter flavor, but it’s used with a really light touch. The maple sea salt definitely has sea salt flavor, and there’s some maple, though not as much as I would have liked. The coconut spice didn’t really have any coconut flavor, though it did have some kind of spice. I’m not sure what as the bag only mentions spices without specifying which ones. The almond cranberry is sort of a generic granola with no distinctive flavor. The most successful one, as far as I’m concerned, is the lemon blueberry, which definitely has some lemon flavor to it. This is the one that I also liked the most. I’d probably pick the maple sea salt second. These bags are largely clusters of oats that have been sweetened and lightly flavored. While some of them have things like peanuts, cranberries, almonds, and some other bits here and there, those add-ins are all only lightly incorporated. These are all about the oats. For me, these are fine, and I’ll eventually make my way through them all, but they aren’t really interesting enough and enjoyable enough that I’m likely to get these again. They are perfectly adequate, but they don’t inspire any cravings in me.This is one of those sampler packs where just about everyone who tries it is going to have a different opinion about which flavor is the best (including just about everyone in our family). The hands-down favorite was Maple Sea Salt, with Peanut butter and Blueberry Lemon close behind. The latter in particular seems like it might be an odd combination (for granola at least), but is fantastic, especially on yogurt or even vanilla ice cream. The peanut butter is really heavy on the peanut butter with larger clumps than the other varieties, and the coconut spice is heavy on the chai (which came across as a bit strong to several in our family). At $35 for right about 3.5 pounds, this isn't the cheapest granola in the world, but the ingredients are good quality and honestly it's nice to have the variety. This sampler would make a great gift for a family member who likes trying new things as well.Very good granola. No oversweet or over flavored. Tastes like very good quality granola that relies on having quality granola and not adding in other stuff to cover for lesser granola. I have used this three ways 1) snack from bag directly 2) to add to plain yogurt with some honey 3) for breakfast with either coconut milk or almond milk. There was not a huge difference in taste between the 5 flavors, but I did like the coconut spice one best. You get 5 different kinds in this sample pack, but again, they were of pretty much equal level. Bob's Red Mill products are usually very good and this granola was no different. I enjoyed it much more than what I would find at a Costco or other similar type stores. Gluten free is also another plus here. Bottom line is it is very good whole grain clean granola.I generally enjoy true variety packs, and this is a great way to try five different flavors of granola from Bob's Red Mill. The reclosable packages each provide 11 ounces - the back indicates this to be ten servings, but if you're using this as cereal rather than just as an occasional snack, it's probably closer to 4 or 5 servings per package. The flavors come though nicely - not overpowering, yet not at all unnoticeable - and each granola is quite different from the others. There is a little more sugar here than in a serving of corn flakes, but not so much more that it should make a difference in your choice. The kids like these granolas as much as we do, so stars from everyone. This comes in a 5 pack of granola, each bag is resealable. Each bag is very full and is excellent quality. The taste is absolutely amazing. I honestly can’t decide which one I like the best because they really are all that good lol. I love granola anyway and eat it a lot but I hadn’t ever tried these and was excited to try the peanut butter one and it definitely didn’t disappoint lol, it had lots of clusters in it and was simply delicious. I also loved the maple sea salt, I loved the salt mixed in with the sweetness of each bite. You get peanut butter, maple sea salt, coconut spice, lemon blueberry and cranberry almond. They have natural ingredients and the price is reasonable. These are just great all the way around, everything about them. It’s great these come with 5 different flavors so you can choose which one you like best, of course I can’t I love them all lol. Overall, these are absolutely amazing and I couldn’t recommend them enough!! You will love them!!
