I should start by saying I don't like oatmeal. I don't hate it, either. I loathe it. The texture. The taste. The temperature. I. Hate. Oatmeal.However, I recently had a baby and was struggling with milk production. After doing a lot of research into increasing milk production. I found a lot of products and recipes which were all very expensive or unrealistically time consuming, since I wanted a regimen which would be easy when I return to work. Oatmeal, however, was frequently listed for it's milk increasing qualities, and I've always known if was a good thing for you regardless of milk needs. It seemed, sadly, like the best, most realistic option for me (since I still want to eat like a "normal" person and not have to go crazy with specialty things. I think health comes from eating regular foods, not following trendy diets). After looking at the nutrition facts for many oat meals, I thought this would provide the milk boosting things I wanted for my baby and the added bonus of fiber and other nutrient to help me shed the baby weight while nursing. I reluctantly gave it a shot.I am glad that I did. My milk production has been helped, and I don't completely hate eating it. My mom and husband,who love oatmeal, enjoyed trying it. I find myself adding some cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice to it to make it more edible for ME, but if you actually enjoy oatmeal, you won't need that. The nutritional facts were very helpful at selling me the product and motivating me to stomach it for the baby.So, if A person who hates oatmeal can eat and somewhat enjoy this, I think it's worth a try for anyone!!The first time I tried a Quaker Oats Weight Control product was only about 2 months ago. Believe it or not I had never had oatmeal in my life! Don't ask me why but I just didn't. All my friends told me to try it because it is so good for you and is great for weight control. So I picked up a box at a local supermarket and finally tried it. It happened to be Maple and Brown Sugar. I loved it! So being the smart girl I am I checked out Amazon which I love and guess what? I found wonderful deals for Quaker instant oatmeal to save me lots of money and I knew from my past experience with Amazon that the product would be delivered in a speedy and secure manner! Well, I checked out the deals and this was an excellent one! You get 4 boxes with 8 packs in each at a superb price. Personally, I adore the Maple & Brown Sugar one the best, the Cinnamon one is tasty too and the Banana Bread one I don't really care for. But talk about lucky, in each box you get 4 Maple and Sugar, 2 Cinnamon and 2 Banana Bread, so it still turned out to be a fabulous deal for me. It gave me a chance to try new flavors and now in the future I will order the 2 I love! I highly rec. this product! Eat and enjoy!UPDATE: This product is excellent for weight loss! It really makes you feel full and very healthy, the price at Amazon can't be beat, I highly rec. this product!!!I eat several packets of oatmeal at a time (a "one serving" pouch is about 3 mouthfuls) and love the I like the variety of oatmeal and that it's lower in calories. It definitely satisfies me in the morning and I don't get hungry until lunch time. The only negative I have, is that the directions for preparation are slightly off--at least, for me. I tried cooking the oatmeal in the microwave, and this turned out to be a disaster. The oatmeal exploded, and caked itself around the bowl, and got all over the bottom of the microwave. After I ate the oatmeal that was left in the bowl, the parts that had adhered itself to the outside of the bowl were difficult to clean. Instead, I boil water in the teapot, and pour the boiling water into the dry oatmeal mixture. Then, I let it sit for a couple minutes and let the oatmeal absorb the water. This is far less messy.
